Professional events that have shaped Terrie’s career.

  • 1983 – Started first company, in translation field, in my apartment
  • 1986 – Almost went bankrupt after high yen “endaka” (Plaza Accord)
  • 1987 – First in Japan to start importing PCs from China
  • 1990 – Established Japan’s first PC and LAN networks outsourcing business, hiring engineers from India (Mumbai region)
  • 1994 – Founding member of YEO in Japan – providing life-long network of contact
  • 1995 – First earn-out, sold LINC Computer and Techman HK to EDS
  • 1998 – Established first mid-career online recruiting web site, www.daijob.com, based in Japan (Recruit had first overall site, for university graduates)
  • 1999 – Bought first Chinese web business to Japan (Chinadotcom)
  • 2005 – Sold Daijob Software and Daijob.com to Japanese firms
  • 2008 – Sold NZ neural network security sw company to Israeli firm
  • 2010 – Started MetroWorks – solutions for paper publishers trying to transition to web
  • 2011 – Started JapanTourist – first crowdsourced national foreign tourism network, promoting Japan inbound travel
  • 2012 – Started MTestJapan.com – online product testing. Also became Charter Member of http://japan.tie.org
  • 2013 – Helped sell BiOS systems integration business to TMJ
  • 2014 – Re-launched inbound tourism business with new company called Japan Travel KK – creating new code, website (www.japantravel.com), and business model
  • 2019 – Completed Seed Round funding for Japan Travel KK
  • 2020 – Became director and founding shareholder of Precept Health SA (www.precepthealth.com)
  • 2021 – Led and completed pre-seed funding for Precept Health SA
